iphone 5s vs note 3

Round 1: Display

In terms of sheer screen real estate, the Galaxy Note 3 has got this round hands down with that massive 5.7 inch screen against apples 4 inch. The Galaxy Note 3 also boasts of more resolution 1080 x 1920 p and higher pixel density 386 ppi compared to the iPhone 5s 4 inch, 1136 x 640 p screen with a 326 ppi but then  apple has the retina display technology going in its favour. In terms of image quality both the phones are pretty much on par simply because a pixel density of 320 ppi is probably more than enough. But if you’re looking for major screen real estate the Galaxy Note is probably the direction you need to be going.

Round 2: Specs and Features

This one is a very close call. Both the phones are amazingly fast and have their own merits. The iPhone is powered by a 1.3 GHz 64 bit A7 dual core processor, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 works on a massive quad core 2.3 GHz QUALCOMM Snapdragon 800 processor. Despite the differences both the phones are exceptionally fast.  In terms of RAM, however, the Galaxy Note 3 is clearly on top with the massive 3 GB RAM against iPhone 5s 1 GB RAM. Both phones offer internal memories up to 64 GB however Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has microSD card slot as well.

In terms of sheer features both phones have their moment, Samsung Galaxy supports side by side multitasking and features an infrared blaster and S-voice. It also features pen input and has a supporting smartwatch to boot. The Apple iPhone 5s still lacks a smartwatch although the fabled iWatch is supposed to be coming soon, also SIRI is supposed to have been improved. The Apple iPhone 5s also features a built in fingerprint scanner built in the home button. Overall both the phones are pretty much on an even keel.

Round 3: Camera and Battery

This is another criterion where both contenders are almost evenly matched. The Apple iPhone 5s features a pretty good 8 MP iSight camera with true tone flash and a 5 element lenses in the rear and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features only a simple 13 MP camera minus the bells and whistles of the former. Both the phones feature pretty decent secondary cameras (1.2 MP in the iPhone and 2 MP in the Note 3). In terms of battery power both the phones should last up to 10 hours which is pretty decent by smartphone standards.

There you have it folks the numbers are tight in front of you and it falls up to you to decide which camp you’re going to support. Both the phones are great products and both have their pros and cons, the choice is all yours.
