Huawei Ascend Mate Phablet is finally public in India after its announcement in January 2013. The new Huawei Ascend Mate has been pitted directly against Samsung’s lately launched phablet Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8 and more likely to smartphones including Lenovo K900 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The new Huawei Ascend Mate Price in India is approx. Rs.24, 900

Huawei Ascend Mate Price in India – Rs. 24,900

Launched primarily in war against Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, Huawei entered the 6 inch tablet market with its promising phablet, Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1. As the name suggests, Ascend Mate boasts a huge 6.1-inch display with 1280 x 720p HD resolution, translating it to 241ppi pixel density.

The screen appears undoubtedly big, offers crisp text and brings out everything alive on screen with bright colors. Equally impressive is the sensitivity of the screen which response even while wearing gloves.

The phablet will be running Android Jelly Bean v4.1 straight out of the box and has been optimized with Huawei’s Emotion UI. Just like HTC Sense and Samsung TouchWiz, the Emotion UI from Huawei will be bringing features on the screen that can’t be seen in the other android smartphones. The Phablet accompanies promised upgrade to Android 4.2, from currently running v4.1 android.

Running all the show in Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1 Phablet is a quad-core processor from the company itself, coupled with 2GB RAM. Though Huawei processors are not that popular in India, but the company claims with such good software optimizations, Huawei Ascend Mate is extremely smooth to use.

The 6.5mm sleek body of Huawei Ascend Mate is slimmer than iPhone5 but its curvier back distinguishes it from the rest. The textured plastic of Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1 feels good in hand and equally good is the 8MP camera resting on the back of the phone.

The second generation Porsche Cayman is a perfect 2-seater sports coupe which has been re-tuned and re-engineered to give faster performance and meet revolutionary frugality standard. For that matter, the new Porsche Cayman S has been designed not only to be lighter but also has a wider track and longer wheel base.

The new Porsche Cayman was first introduced in 2005 and it took no time for the vehicle to become one of the best driven cars in the world with its unmatched agility and sharp handling. The Cayman version then was powered by 2.7Liter engine but the new Porsche Cayman S launched in India will be powered with bigger engine that offers better power output.

Inspired from Porsche Boxter, the new Porsche Cayman S resembles a lot in terms of design and aesthetics with its sibling. The new Cayman S will be 30kgs lighter than its previous model which has resulted in significant boosting of power to weight ratio. The company engineers have brought into use lightweight aluminum extensively with steel body for ensuring more lightness and rigidity.

Depending upon the model and equipment, the company claims that this lighter Cayman S version consumes lesser fuel/100 km, up to 15% less than its predecessor, despite higher engine and driving performance.

The new Porsche Cayman is powered with 3.4liter, flat-6 engine that can produce whopping 325HP of power and the peak torque of 370Nm. The new Cayman S has been added with optional 7-speed PDK gearbox that reaches 0 to 100kmph in just 4.9seconds. There’s also a Sports Chrono package available for Cayman that can bring that to 4.7 for touching similar speed. The new Cayman S can attain top speed of 281kmph.

Porsche, in India, is owned by Volkswagen Group and is currently the sole importer of luxury cars from the company including Porsche 911, Boxster S, Cayenne, Panamera and now Porsche Cayman S.

As the next big thing for company, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has given mid-range car buyers a new direction especially in the popular MPV market.
The Ertiga unlike conventional MPV with traditional body-on-frame format is based around Swift’s monocoque platform that makes it a good car to ride. For a moment you may be confused for Ertiga’s Ritz-like looks but its clever packaging, longer wheelbase and generous space makes it a decent MPV. The things that will strike you the most are its tall and good proportions.

Indian buyers, particularly, look for car that can fit all their transport requisites, be it related to moving people or luggage. To a great extent, this approach has led to increase in the popularity of MPVs in India and Ertiga is undoubtedly one decent MPV that actually abounds seating space for seven people.

The driving position on Maruti Suzuki Ertiga isn’t too high as in a standard MPV but pertaining to its low-slung station wagon image, this seems perfectly fine. The A-pillar does tend to create hassles in driving, but as you get used to that, Ertiga feels no less than a toy in the busy city traffic. All the three seating rows offer generous space, with second row slides can be supports sliding according to your needs.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is sold in petrol, CNG and diesel engine options, with power coming from K-Series lineup, in Petrol variant. The 1.4Liter K14A engine is extremely refined and feels smooth and churns out 94BHP power and the peak torque of 130Nm. The engine gives good rev range while it short gear ratios ensure good drivability.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga petrol is definitely a fun-on-the-run type and employs fuel efficient K-Series engine from the company. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga mileage is the best in its class at 16.01kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Diesel, on the other hand, employs DDIS lineup; the 1.3L variable geometry turbo churns out 89BHP and 200Nm. The diesel engine is not as free-revving as petrol and claims mileage of 20.77kmpl for diesel.

With three launches in a fairly quick succession, there seems a flooding in Indian scooter market. We first saw Yamaha Ray Z, the male oriented version of 2012 launched Yamaha Ray, the much-anticipated Activa-i and now Piaggio Vespa VX with front disc brake. As a sibling to India’s favorite Honda Activa, Activa-i is ready to taste the same success, the retro styled Vespa VX and Yamaha’s Ray Z have also geared up. Here’s a quick comparison between Yamaha Ray Z vs Piaggio Vespa vs Honda Activa i.

Design and Styling

Vespa, being the oldest out of the three scooters, has been updated lately with shiny 200 mm disc brake on the front with wider grab rail, broader seat in the option of beige color and new meters. There’s no compromise over its retro adaptation and why should it? It’s the prime selling point of Vespa VX.

Yamaha Ray has been part of Indian Scooter market for more than a year, as the sole entry from Japanese auto giant. Yamaha Ray Z, the ‘bro’ version of Ray, was launched a few weeks ago and particularly designed for men ride. The new Ray Z has been given visor on the handlebar fairing, a complicated looking grab rail, carbon-finished seats and a red-colored rear suspension springs.

Following its sibling, Honda Activa-i has got totally novel things in his bunch. Reducing the bulbous shape of Activa, the new scooter has been designed using the styling line from Hero MotoCorp Pleasure, and the front fascia from, Honda Aviator. On the whole, Honda Activa-I has new front apron, different tail lamp treatment and less sheet metal on the body.

Mechanicals

Mechanically, all the scooters will be carrying on the same configuration as their siblings. That means, Piaggio Vespa VX will be powered by peppy 10PS 125cc engine, Yamaha Ray Z gets 7.1PS 113cc engine with updated roller-rockers and carburettor and Activa-i uses HET-ified 110cc engine. Along with updated suspension, Yamaha Ray Z has got some frame bits. If mileage is considered, competition between Vespa VX and Honda Activa I is similar at 60kmpl but Yamaha Ray Z is slightly less fuel efficient, claiming 53kmpl mileage.

Other features

Apart from some handful of changes on body and graphics, Piaggio Vespa VX has been added with 200mm front disc brake to the package. On the other hand, Yamaha Ray Z vs Honda Activa I competition is equitably handled by Ray’s 130mm drums at both ends and Honda’s Combi Braking System (CBS).

Pricing

There’s no announcement of prices of Vespa VX till date but it is expected to be Rs.2,500 costlier than standard variant that cost around Rs.59, 996. The cheapest of the lost is Honda Activa-i at Rs.44, 200 while Yamaha Ray Z price in India is approx. Rs.48, 500.

For past few months, there have been loads of speculations over HTC One Mini but quite discretely, the company is out with another HTC smartphone, dubbed as HTC Desire 200. We have seen number of budget android handsets recently with worthy features and price tag, but there’s a huge expectation from HTC Desire 200 to carry budget price tag for luring consumers to pick one up. The HTC Desire 200 will be making to Indian and other Asian markets soon.

HTC Desire 200 Price in India – Not Announced

The new HTC Desire 200 features a 3.5inch LCD screen that supports the screen 320 x 480 pixels resolution. It will feature HTC Sense UI layer on the top of the phone, optimized with Android’s obsolete version, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone is also expected to have an earpiece similar to that of HTC One’s front speaker grills. There will be three capacitive touch buttons following its 3.5inch screen, just like most of HTC phones, especially belonging to Desire Series. On its rear, the phone looks similar to that of HTC Desire C and also come along with Beats Audio, which could be well make out from its branding at the back panel.

The new entry-level android smartphone, HTC Desire 200 features a 1GHz single core processor, coupled with 512MB RAM. There are huge chances that its below than expectation screen resolution and RAM might limit its appeal in the smartphone market where hardware specifications are receiving a bump with declining price.

HTC Desire 200 will be featuring 4GB internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD card. The users can bring into use its 5MP rear camera for clicking images but for night shots, HTC Desire 200 doesn’t come with Flash unit.

The home brewed smartphone manufacturer Micromax has released a teaser of their new upcoming handset which they have named as Canvas 4. Posting two teaser videos of the device on its YouTube channel, Micromax has given its new sleek bodied smartphone the tagline of “Can Life be Endless?”. While its pre-bookings will start from June 28, the expected price of Micromax Canvas 4 will be ranging from Rs.20k – Rs.22k.

Micromax Canvas 4 Price in India – Rs. 20,000

(Expected)

As an update to much popular Micromax Canvas HD smartphone, the new upcoming Micromax Canvas 4 will be powered with an eight-core processor, just like Samsung’s flagship, Galaxy S4.

In the first blink-and-miss teaser, Micromax Canvas 4 has been reviewed from all angles in its brief glimpse. It could be well figured out that Micromax Canvas 4 features back panel with a brushed-aluminium look, but there’s no confirmation whether it is actually metal or not.

Apart from that, the edges of the phone are expected to be chrome-plated, similar to Canvas HD. The most exciting parts is that that there are chances that Micromax Canvas 4 might be a unibody construction, as teaser could give a glimpse of a SIM tray on the right edge of the phone.

The camera lens of Micromax Canvas 4 has been placed at the top-left corner of the back while its second teaser has been seen giving a sneak peek of its 13MP sensor and LED Flash placed along. The camera has been deeply recessed to protect it from scratches. Overall, Micromax Canvas 4 will have a distinct look, far from its generic appearance, something we haven’t seen in the past.

Micromax in the beginning of this year had said that it will launch a total of 30 smartphones in 2013. Since then, the Indian smartphone company has rolled out many devices including Canvas HD, Canvas 3D, Canvas Viva, Bolt A35 and Canvas Music.

Following the ambitious plan to emerge as the largest phone seller in India, ahead of market leader Samsung and Nokia, Micromax has been busy developing vast and diverse range of cost effective and affordable phones in India. In January, the company claimed to have shipped around 1.89Lacs phablets in last quarter of 2012, as compared to 1.89Lacs units sold by South Korean electronics giant, Samsung.

All those who are looking for new Windows 8 Based convertible ultrabook, Lenovo ThinkPad Helix can be one of the capable choices, made available in 2013. For many of us, what will be most loved in the new Lenovo ThinkPad Helix is its unchangeable form factor which is pretty light to hold despite of absorbing dual batteries in it. Based on Windows 8 platform, price of Lenovo ThinkPad Helix “Rip and Flip” hybrid Notebook is approx. Rs. 75k.

Lenovo Thinkpad Helix Price in India – Rs. 75,000

(Expected)

To begin with Lenovo ThinkPad Helix Specifications, the tablet part of ultrabook is an excellent device in its own right; the moment you add keyboard dock to it, Lenovo ThinkPad Helix feels nothing more than a regular laptop.

With an 11.6inch screen size, the new Lenovo ThinkPad Helix tablet offers plenty of pixels on its full HD screen and everything on its screen appears sharp and vibrant. Thankfully, this IPS display doesn’t disappoint you with its viewing angles and also combat the reflections that come off its protective Gorilla Glass.

At 12mm thick minus keyboard and 21mm with keyboard thickness it actually meets the criteria of a standard ultrabook as per Intel thickness specifications. Inside, the new Lenovo ThinkPad Helix has a potent configuration of Intel Core i5-3427U CPU (also available with an i7), 4GB DDR3 RAM and 180GB Intel SSD. Since it is basically aimed at Business users, Lenovo has also included a vPro Chipset, Pro Version of Windows 8, an Ethernet Dongle and a Trusted Platform Module 1.2.

On the rear, lenovo thinkpad helix convertible ultrabook tablet pc incorporates a 5MP rear-facing camera that captures pretty good shots in daylight while its front 2MP camera seems good for video chat. Some of the other Lenovo ThinkPad Helix features include built-in 3G Mobile Broadband, NFC, USB 2.0 Port, a Mini Display Port, two USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort output and a dual-band Wi-Fi. There’s no SD card slot, if by any chance you are looking forward to make data transfer using that.

The USP of Lenovo ThinkPad Helix windows 8 convertible still lies in its dual battery setup with both tablet and Keyboard base having two separate batteries. With this, the Lenovo device can let you work, browse, surf, chat, mail, play or do every possible thing for up to 10 hours of battery usage (in tablet+ mode and clamshell mode).
