Hyundai Motors India will soon be launching Hyundai i20 Sedan HB20S, a feature laden luxury saloon with some of the most anticipated specifications that has already made its debut in International market like Brazil. For all those who have kept their eyes and ears locked for welcoming Hyundai’s sub 4 meter sedan, get set to amaze yourself soon with Hyundai’s brand new sedan which they have called Hyundai i20 sedan HB20S. Market has already seen Honda Amaze (Brio Sedan) and Chevrolet Sail in competition and now it is turn for India’s leading automaker Hyundai to present their best in the foray.
With Hyundai Motor Brazil already launched their i20 Sedan Version in Brazilian market, the market analysts in India are also expecting its release in adherence to company’s global market strategy. India’s leading auto giant has already made some announcements lately towards launching a new compact sedan in India, apart from a hatchback positioned between Hyundai i10 and i20, an MPV and a compact SUV.
Hyundai Motors has been busy developing a compact i20 sedan as their 2014 launch. Though not expected to launch on the same platform as current i20, the Korean car giant has speculated to release their new compact sedan on the new i20 platform that is expected to debut in 2014. It is presumed that hee new Hyundai i20 is going to be featured with immense improvements and so is the new Hyundai i20 sedan HB20S.
With new Hyundai i20 Sedan, the Korean manufacturer is supposedly planning to replace Hyundai’s popular sedan Accent due to its declining popularity and lesser sales statistics in Indian market. Also, with Hyundai i20 sub-4 meter length, Hyundai will get excise duty benefit, something Accent wasn’t offering.
The Hyundai i20 sedan 2013 is expected to be incorporating similar features from i20 hatchback apart from adopting some basic design cues from the hatchback counterpart. With expected boot integration to be much like those in Tata Indigo CS, the new Hyundai i20 sedan 2013 will be posing a great threat to Maruti Suzuki Dzire and sedans alike.
With expected Hyundai i20 sedan price in India to touch Rs.6 Lacs to Rs.8 Lacs, the new HB20S will be competing in Indian market with Toyota Etios, Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo Manza and Ford Fiesta Classic. With new Hyundai i20 sedan 2013, the company is going to generate volumes in the burgeoning entry level C-segment; however there has been no announcement over Hyundai i20 sedan launch date India yet. There’s already 50% increase in diesel car production for company’s i20 and Verna prototypes as of now.
Technically speaking, the new Hyundai i20 sedan is going to be equipped with both diesel and petrol motors. The petrol version will be equipped with 1.2Liter dual VTVT Petrol engine that will give 84BHP at 5200RPM and 116Nm of peak torque at 4000RPM. On the other hand, 1.4 liter diesel engine, paired with 6 speed manual gearbox, will breezily churn out 90BHP of maximum power and 224Nm of torque at 1750RPM.
