Mercury mTab Neo Tablet Review
Kobian released Mercury mTab Neo Tablet, a much enhanced version of Mercury’s previous Tablets. It is a bit slimmer and speedier model than its predecessor and comes with some new advancement as well.
Build & Design
Mercury mTab Neo Tablet is dipped in Glossy coating, from tip to toe and back to front making it reasonably short-lived against finger prints and smudges. The overall build is comparatively slimmer as compared to mTab2 but the buttons and interfaces gives cheaper and messy look – the “over-the-top” glossy appearance makes it more daunting.
The tablet comes with 7 inch capacitive touch screen which supports 16M colors and comes with the screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The 7 inch screen size makes it suitable for comfortable holding and the WVGA resolution makes it appear quite sharp.
Performance
Mercury mTab Neo ensures heavier processing with its Dual-Core Cortex A9 Processor which clocks at 1GHz. 1080pixels hard decoding VPU makes sure that you are delivered with effortless video playback and superb graphics display.
In comparison to other hardware specifications, 512MB RAM might surprise you. But the internal capacity of 4GB with the expansion up to 32GB via Micro SD Card slot which can never make you run out of space.
Quite surprisingly, Mercury mTab Neo Tablet couldn’t include latest version of Android and runs on Android V2.2 – Froyo. Mercury hasn’t made many changes to the User interface and has left it untouched to a great extent. Sadly, the company isn’t seeking any OS upgrades for the tablet.
Camera
At the rear of Mercury mTab is a 2MP autofocus camera with LED Flash which can also fetch video recording. The front facing camera of 0.3 MP gives VGA quality pictures and doesn’t help in good quality video calling.
Features
Mercury mTab comes with 10.3 Flash support which is a big surprise element. The Tablet also accompanies USB on-the-go support and features 3 Dimensional gravity sensing and Screen rotations. No matter wherever and whichever direction you move, the orientation of the display is going to change accordingly.
Connectivity
With Wi-Fi connectivity, Mercury mTab Neo allows wireless internet connection and for extreme convenience you can connect via Wi-Fi hotpot which allows unproblematic browsing.
For multimedia usage, the tablet is incorporated with micro USB v2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, DC jack and HDMI HD output which ease your multimedia operations.
